Founded in 1975, Virginia Equipment Development has spent fifty years self-performing the heaviest, most logistically complex sitework in the Commonwealth. We own the equipment, employ the operators, and answer for every cubic yard.

Headquartered in Richmond and operating across the Mid-Atlantic, VED is a single-source civil contractor for mass earthwork, site utilities, and heavy infrastructure. Our clients are owners, developers, federal program managers, and the largest GCs in the region — they rely on us for the work no one else will self-perform.

After a decade of private work, VED prequalifies with the Virginia Department of Transportation and begins self-performing public roadway and bridge approach packages.

Utilities Brought In-House
Underground wet and dry utilities are brought fully in-house, allowing VED to deliver mass grading and site utilities on a single schedule under a single PM.
